have been going on for a decade... they have passed from the point that they are more than a habit.. they have become a "commodity".. a something that will most definitely happen. a thing to expect. a thing that you fear that it will happen when you least want it to happen. after you have worked out, during the work time, when you re having coffee, just you have gotten out of bed, if you stay up late, if you smoke, after you 've had too much too drink.. there is no pattern, you just quit the habit. but which one? working? working out? waking up? going to bed? having a social drink or two? I cannot find the connection..

for the past months, it seems that every time i am staying up late, i am just tired the next two days and that's it.. the migraine just pops up out of the blue (? I can never be sure about that even if my tests say so)..

for a long time i have been having fears of not doing stuff in order not to have a migraine.

i just wish this stops. really. for good. i feel like a handicapped person-always willing of doing stuff, but never fit enough for them..

I hope I can complete this post without network interruptions..

so these past few days (or the past month to be exact) have had some really great moments and some really bad moments. Like a shower that is cold and hot from one point to another. I guess that most people have this kind of periods in their lifetime. At first you panic, then you try to deal with everything and by trying things get done. Doing things under pressure should make you proud if you manage to achieve them or makes you feel like shit if you cannot deal with them. For me so far it seems that I am still in the middle of everything. I hope i can make them work in the end..

I' ve also had a very interesting conversation with the taxi driver that gave me a ride to work this morning. This guy had travelled a lot. He studied tourist industry in Canada (I don't rememeber which of Quebec or Montreal he told me exactly) and seemed to travel a lot. He had even worked in Ghana for a cloth industry! How bold and courageous of him. He loved good music and watched a lot of musicals in the theater. He had watched West Side Story and Singing in the Rain in a theater here in Athens and was so amazed by it that he started talking to me about the show.

After the ride I was thinking to myself that travelling is the one thing that I would love to do the most. I would be very proud of myself if I could travel from one country to another and live there for a while. But not as a tourist. As an immigrant. Imagine meeting all these new people and interacting with them. Trying to communicate and become friends with them. If I could make it under such circumstances, I would be able to make it under any circumstance. I would try to learn the culture and the language of each place. I would be full of life experience! Will I ever make it? I don't know. Will I ever try? I don't know either.

How I spent the week:

Friday night: I went on a date with my bf all over Athens-fantastic!!

Saturday: What did I do on Saturday?? I remember that dinner with the guys in the evening that was fun..Oh yeah! We went on a bicycle ride.. Lovely apart from the bad weather...

Sunday: We spent half the day gaming and in the afternoon I watched SATC 2 with my friends.. I didn't enjoy it as much, it would have been better if I stayed in..

Monday: I went to my parent's place for an hour. Other than that I did nothing..I think I didn't even cook for dinner..

Tuesday: I went to the supermarket and there was much rejoicing..

Wednesday: I did nothing. I came home at about 20++, so there was not much I had the strength to do.. Some bad cooking and a lot of browsing..I should have gone to that movie avant premiere instead of watching TV at home...

Thursday: I have a doctor's appointment in the evening so there is not much I can do before or after that.. Hope this goes well..

Friday: I have no idea how tired I ll be, but I think that since I will be busy cleaning up on Saturday, there is not much choice there either..

What a fun fun week! Can I have a couple of days off? Can I also spend some time with my bf?? All work and no play is just dull and frustrating!! :(

I ate almost all the cookies I bought on sunday.. For the past three days, I am having three cookies a day! Fuck that, I don't need that much sugar! Thank God, I had a light lunch, no extra oil, no extra bread, no fruit at all, all day... I am going to throw the rest of them away, they are such a yum yum temptation that just thinking about them makes me wanna eat them all..

For lunch tomorrow am having fresh beans.. I really need to cook that risotto I was thinking about, but I get off work so late every day, that I cannot experiment at all..

I also wish we went to that movie tonight and take a rest..

It seems that everything is upside down these days..I cannot make plans at all. And fuck that stupid machine called TV. Just what I needed, another corny movie: "How to lose a guy in 10 days"
How about how to lose your temper in a few weeks time...

update: I think I just burnt the fresh beans... :(

So here is the story:
I got tired of buying herbs once a week from the supermarket, but never getting to use all of the quantity that I bought.. I decided to grow my own herbs in the balcony as a hobby. And so I did. I decided that I use more often basil and parsley, so these were the ones that I would try and grow.

I bought the seeds and I also bought dirt as well. I planted the seeds, watered them for a few days and then waited for them to grow. And they did.

Here is the result so far:

My only concern is that the basil seems to be "drowned" by some other herbs-these ones:

What are these? Are they edible?? Should I just take them out??

I didn't see the contest from the beginning; I just saw half the Russian song and the rest apart from the 4 last ones.. The ones that stroke out the most were:

I find it hard to believe that the Greek song was so much more uptempo comparing to most of the other songs.. What do you know.. If we do make it to the finals it will be a big shock for me!!

so it turns out that even without a hand mixer one can still make these little sweets! I bet the hand mixer would speed the process up (and make my life easier as well, but never mind)
next time, I ll try the recipe with a little bit of lemon juice as well and let them cook for another half an hour or so and see what happens (I ll do things by the book that is)..

Dear all,
I have an announcement to make:
I watched Star Wars Episode IV tonight for the first time in my (almost) 27 geek years. I have to admit that I wasn't bored completely (like with that Star Trek movie-I don't remember which one) so I just might watch Episode V as well. Of course I wasn't amazed like I would have been, had I seen it 15 years ago, but I guess that at least for historic purposes it's a movie worth watching. And btw, Skywalker is such a woos!!I bet that he is in love with the Princess and she is in love with Han Solo..

what happens is a totally different issue:

1. you realize that there are still some bills you need to pick up from your parent's place

2. you need to get a new face cream from the pharmacy-of course they have no stock, you need to place an order

3. you already knew that you need to pop a visit to the local grocery store-but will do that as soon as you re done with the other things you need to do

4. you forgot to pump the sound a bit on your mobile-you suddenly see 5 missed calls. "Oops!! What did I forget? What didn't I do? What are those unknown numbers?"

5. the neighbors scream that "the heating is not working properly..". they call for the service :S

5. the repair guy arrives at 20.30... he starts fixing it by turning on and off a lever. he keeps doing that for 30 minutes and keeps chatting to the neighbor (it turns out that they are related)

6. the repair ends at 22.00. you pay 30 euros for that chat and the on/off procedure.

in the mean time, you haven't had any rest at all. you have been working all day. you haven't had a proper lunch or dinner. you haven't cleaned up at all (although you seriously need to do so). and what about washing up the dirty clothes? tomorrow, you need to wake up ridiculously early to fill up the fuel tank.

btw, you have a stomach ache all day long!! PAAAARTY!!!

I was just watching this movie called "The boat that rocked". I can tell you one thing: I didn't know anything about this film, but from scene #1 I am soooooo into it with it that I keep pausing it every 5'' to listen to the actual song that is on the movie!!!

anywayz, I always knew that this kind of music makes me define the "L" word. So according to some of the songs (because not all of them are about love), love is something among the above:

So we were talking the other day about joining a new activity..

The thing is that our time is limited.. The other thing is doing something fun, social and outgoing. Watching TV shows at home can be fun but it's not social. Cooking and trying out new recipes is fun but when cleaning up time starts I can postpone it forever. Dancing is fun and outgoing, but all dancing halls open up at 23.00 or midnight. You cannot do this on a weekday. Going to the movies is fun and outgoing but it's not really social either. Theater is way too expensive..

What I wish I could do more often is travel. My last trip was in August (like two months ago...)

What hit me the other day was learn how to play bridge. So it turns out that courses are once a week, each season costs 90 euros per person (that is 12 courses). I don't know if it's any worth it.. It seems that they do organize tournaments and trips, so I guess that solves the social and outgoing requirements. But the question remains: Is it any fun?? Should we do it??

I'll get back on this once we try if we decide to actually do this.
