the boat that rocked
I was just watching this movie called "The boat that rocked". I can tell you one thing: I didn't know anything about this film, but from scene #1 I am soooooo into it with it that I keep pausing it every 5'' to listen to the actual song that is on the movie!!!
so far the movie features:
The Kinks
The Rolling Stones
The Yardbirds
Arthur Brown
Box Tops
The Easybeats
anywayz, I always knew that this kind of music makes me define the "L" word. So according to some of the songs (because not all of them are about love), love is something among the above:
if you ask the Kinks, you know you re in love when you re "Not content to be with you in the daytime" but when "I want to be with you all of the time" and "The only time I feel alright is by your side". Unfortunately, this works fine until you actually get a job...
if you ask the Easybeats they' ll just tell you just how they cope with the "five day drag once more" and how Friday night they'll just be with that girl "Be with my girl, she's so pretty, She looks fine tonight, She is outa' sight to me" - if you think about it, it's just dealing with every day misery and waiting for the Friday night date! (I wonder whatever happened to those)
now for the Box Tops it's different: money is no issue, they have to get back no matter what just because she wrote a letter
"Gimme a ticket for an aeroplane,
Ain't got time to take a fast train."
"I don't care how much money I gotta spend,
Got to get back to my baby again
Lonely days are gone, I'm a-goin' home,

-this is also called "prioritizing" for some people
the yardbirds are more matterialists and romantic at the same time

Double dates that will excite,

"I'd give the moon if it were mine to give.

I'd give the stars and the sun 'fore I live."
I mean what more can you ask? Once you ve had just a tiny bit of the above definitions of love your whole life would be as happy as these songs are.. Could it be for real?
